Performance
Learn Square Dance p. 16-17
- count out loud every time you play
- use the 3-10-3 method of learning songs:
1. Do 2-4 measures at a time (if they are one hand at a time, do 4, if it’s hands together, do 2). Play that section 3 times in a row. Then wait 10 seconds, then play it again 3 times. Then move on to the next section and do 3-10-3 again, until the whole song is learned - 2. Skip repeated measures
- The next day, play through the song first to see how it is. Any measures you make a mistake on, do 3-10-3 for it
- add dynamics
Learn 500-Year-Old Melody p. 18-19
- write in counting and count out loud
- do 3-10-3 to learn this, skipping repeated measures
