Repertoire

In general, work these pieces in a rotation schedule, with taking a day off from each once/week

Hanson Enchantment

  • Try memorizing using the Sacred Four steps on sections or passages that aren’t quite memorized
  • Work on gradually increasing tempo to 116 bpm – when memorized
  • make sure ritardandos are gradually slowing down and not a sudden tempo change
  • feel free to add soft pedal in other spots if you’re having trouble getting the sound you want

Bach Little Prelude in C

  • Continue hand separately then hands together
  • when doing mordents section, pause as long as you need to in RH to execute mordent, then move on in faster tempo
  • m. 13 go through note by note, thinking of whether hands are moving contrary or parallel

Sonatina in C, Op. 36 No. 3 – Clementi

  • Play through start to finish hands separately to get an overview of the whole piece – do this one or twice during the week, but not in back to back days
  • The rest of your practice days should focus on the most difficult measures: m. 7-8, 10-11, 20, 22, 31-35, 42-46. As you go along, you may find other spots that need work, feel free to do those. The idea is you focus on the “big rocks” first, then work on smaller rocks
