Technique/Scales

C major scale (two 8va), arpeggios (two 8va) – hands separately, then together.

Ploger: 6-Part Lap Map p. 68 improv and 6-part Longy Rhythm (separately)

  • Try to keep going if you make a mistake – identify the cause of error, and apply the correct cure in time

Solfege:

  • review solfege by using keyboard drawing and improvising solfege melodies, only stepwise motion up and down
  • sing and play the exercises – one per day: Solfege p 7

Theory/Sightreading

  • Theory – RCM Unit 2 p. 16-19
  • Sight Reading 4B Unit 14

Repertoire

Hanson Enchantment

  • Try memorizing using the Sacred Four steps on sections or passages that aren’t quite memorized
  • Work on gradually increasing tempo to 116 bpm
  • make sure ritardandos are gradually slowing down and not a sudden tempo change
  • feel free to add soft pedal in other spots if you’re having trouble getting the sound you want

Bach Little Prelude in C

  • Continue hand separately slowly
  • Also try putting hands together a little bit at a time
  • do mordents on all upper G’s in m. 9-11

Sonatina in C, Op. 36 No. 3 – Clementi

  • Get started on the Exposition hands separately
