Technique/Scales
- G major scale and arpeggios (two 8vas) – hands separately, then together. For scales, pause at each place where you cross under/over to make sure the correct hand goes first: rh on ascending, lh on descending
- Ploger: 6-Part Lap Map improv and 6-part Longy Rhythm (separately)
Theory/Sightreading
Theory – Unit 7?
- Sight Reading 1B: finish up the extra exercises at the end
- Sight Reading 2A: Unit 1
Unit 1 duet: Eighths Are Enough
Repertoire
Nuvole Bianche
- Whenever you have the blocked chords, bring out the top note in RH and play that as legato as possible (some spots you can’t, but the legato will help voice them)
- m. 35 LH try to do crossover with less arm movement up – think more horizontal movement only
- LH arpeggios, work alone on 3 staccatos
- incorporate pedaling now – use your ears to help you determine when, look for when the chord changes
Clementi Sonatina Op 36 No 1 mvt 2
- Continue very slow practice hands together, spending extra time on those measures that you have to pause for (do less play throughs now)
- try playing LH blocked chords while you play RH as written
Christmas music:
- Ballad of the Kings – review very slowly hands separately for a few days, then very slowly together
- In Excelsis Deo – work on the 3rd page only, hands separately then together still very slowly
