Repertoire

Mozart Sonata in C K545: use this sheet for reference Mozart K545

  • Work on beats with trills in isolation hands together (i.e., m. 4 beats 2-3). You may want to count out loud, and remember the trills are 32nd notes so you’d play two of them per subdivision
  • LH arpeggios, try to block as much as you can to get in muscle memory and awareness of what notes to play, but when you play arpeggiated treat it like one note at a time – not overly legato. You can also work the 3 different staccatos here

Satie Gymnopedie No. 1 sheet music: Gymnopedie – annotated

  •  Be sure you are in 3/4 time for m.1-4
  • continue working LH alone – sometimes practice only the chord and leave out beat 1, then go repeat and add beat 1
  • Do some chord analysis on m. 18-39 to help with finding the chords. Ignore the pedal point on beat 1 m. 23-31 when doing this
  • Repedal on beat 3 m. 37 as you hold F# in RH for full measure
