Rhythm
- Do 5-Part Lap Map, making up your own rhythms. You can look at the Longy rhythms and choose ones you see there to try
- Then do 5-Part rhythm the “old” way
- stop if you make a mistake and figure out what the mistake was and which of the 3 causes of error it was
Scales, Chords, and Technique
Work on Eb Major scale, one hand at a time, then together
- it’s good to look at your hands
- figure out first where your black keys are, then try playing the scale
Technique:
- Learn p. 12-17
- use 3-10-3 for Winter Wind
Theory
Do p. 10-17 (it’s a lot, so do whatever you have time for)
Lessons
Try using this Practice Rotation sheet – make a copy for yourself so you can edit (try the Alt Routine tab) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bF5ovjZdzG_wZb3R5fr9CosuAddwX7pUlBrjd7vAmYs/edit?usp=sharing
Play through p. 28-29 to review G major scale
Learn Viva la France p. 30-31
- count out loud, but try to count in your head as it gets easier
- do 3-10-3 as needed
Performance
Try using the Practice Rotation spreadsheet for all of your pieces
Keep practicing Sunburst Waltz p. 10-11, and learn Theme by Haydn p. 12-13
- use 3-10-3 to learn
- write in counting and count out loud
Fairy Tale
- use 3-10-3 and counting out loud
- look for the pattern in the LH by playing beats 1 and 2 as a chord, and 3 and 4 as another chord (play all the notes at once). Use these chords as you play the RH melody as written to do your 3-10-3, then try playing as written, but only do beats 1-2 and 3-4 at one time.
- Use this pdf version on your table to color the measures where it’s a different LH pattern. You can also use another pdf and circle in Red, Yellow, and Green according to what measures you feel are most difficult: Fairy Tale
