Do the new  5-Part Lap Map Improv – get comfortable with this new pattern

  • pay attention to the 3 Causes of Error and applying the solution

Theory/Sightreading

Redo p. 35 and 37, and go onto Unit 9

Etudes

Arabesque

  • Practice starting from the stars
  • Practice leap at the end in 2 ways: 1. Going back and forth really fast, get vertical height 2. Jump up and hover over the keys, hesitate until you’re sure you’re over the right notes, then play. You can do these hands separately then together

Repertoire

Learn Minuet in G p. 6

  • learn slowly hands separately with counting out loud, being careful of F#
  • don’t play the ornaments (the squiggly lines above some of the notes)

Gentle Breezes

  • Add pedal to the 2nd page
  • count to yourself for the A section, but out loud for B section
  • work 2nd page extra so that it’s just as good as the first page. Do this by practicing a few measures a few times in a row, then do the next few measures 3 times, etc. You can also ask yourself which part you know the least and start from there
  • A section: work on playing this musically like we talked about
