C major scale and arpeggios – hands together

  • go on to G major when easy

Theory

Fundamentals of Piano Theory Level 10 – go at your own pace

Repertoire

2nd mvt:Mozart K545 mvt 2 & 3

  • Work on one phrase at a time: play RH to see how you want the melody shaped. Then play the LH alone very softly for this passage until easy and no notes stick out. Then add melody while keeping the LH in this very soft and legit (don’t lift LH every time you do so for the RH – the slurs are for the melody only)
  • Think about the two-note slurs having a slight stress on the first note and then less on the 2nd note
  • Staccatos can be less clipped since this is a slow movement

Nocturne – Poole

  • continue hands separate work, you can do LH blocked chords

Bach Prelude in C BWV 846: JS Bach Prelude in C

  • Work on the “cantabile” style playing, by paying attention to certain notes that are important and either speeding up towards them or lingering on them, etc. The goal is to not be metronomic with it, but we want to keep a sense of flow and create movement
