Scale and arpeggios

  • hands together
  • choose scales from the Beethoven to work ascending and descending
  • remember to keep the wrist still and have an ergonomic angle to the arm, and make sure you use the same fingering as in the piece

  • Focus on measures in the recap, especially where it changes m. 74-87
  • Also around m. 103 to end
  • Use 3-10-3, also work in intervals
  • Use metronome for exposition first theme to help keep your beat the same between 8th triplets and even 8ths – there’s a slight change in beat when you play this

  • Do 3-10-3 as needed
  • Try to work on doing any leaps without looking. Feel the black keys to help orient yourself. Also feel the distance of your upper arm to help
