Etudes

Arabesque

  • Work extra on the ending to make sure you can do it in time – practice leaping down and back up like we talked about
  • (Do this once or twice this week) Practice the 16th notes parts separately using the 3 Staccatos:
  1. Swiping the keys – pull back each note with entire arm
  2. Bouncing the wrist on each note
  3. Plucking each key like it’s a string

Repertoire

Minuet in G p. 6

  • Play hands together with counting for 2 measures, then repeat a couple of times if you make a mistake before going on (if there are no mistakes then no need repeat it)
  • Don’t look at your hands and just feel where they’re supposed to go

Gentle Breezes

  • Good job on the async hands, now let’s not do them on all the times our hands play together, but decide on important places.
  • work on changing the timing of important notes
  • at the end, let us wait for the last few notes
  • memorize this for next time
