Nothing this week.

Theory:

• Do some of Unit 2 – you don’t have to do it all, however
• Practice reading note names by picking out random pieces in your book and figuring out the note name (ABCDEF or G) using the Note Names sheet. Don’t write in the note names beyond the first note in each hand, but you do want to practice reading them so it comes quickly

Ploger:

• read Chapter 3, and do Exercises 3-1 and 3-2

Move on to Unit 2

• no need to go through the exercises on p. 30-31 more than one time
• with Row, Row, Row Your Boat, head to https://pianoadventures.com/qr/ff1302/p33/ and watch how to play the whole piece. Try to play based on how it sounds and how it looks in the video

Steps for practicing:

• tap the rhythm with your hands and count out loud for the long notes
• when rhythm is easy, then try playing, still counting out loud for the long notes
• if you make a mistake, resist the temptation to start from the beginning. Instead try to start right on or right before the mistake
