Rhythm
- Do 5-Part Lap Map, making up your own rhythms. You can look at the Longy rhythms and choose ones you see there to try
- Then do 5-Part rhythm the “old” way
- stop if you make a mistake and figure out what the mistake was and which of the 3 causes of error it was
Scales, Chords, and Technique
Play D Major Scale and Chords
- hands separately looking at the keys, put hands together when easy
- remember all F’s and C’s are sharped
- use the same fingering as C major scale

Lessons
Keep practicing Queen’s Royal Entrance p. 40-41
- do 3-10-3 where needed
- add dynamics and pedal where indicated
Play through p. 42
Learn Peter Pan, Aardvark, and Whirling Leaves p. 43-47
- Write in counting and count out loud
- Use the 3-10-3 method: Play a very small segment (1-2 measures) 3 times in a row, wait 10 seconds, then repeat another 3 times. Continue this until you’ve completed the whole piece
- The next day, play the piece start to finish to see how it goes. Repeat 3-10-3 wherever it’s needed.
- Do 3-10-3 for only one piece per day when first learning it

Learn Rocky Mountain and Italian Children’s Game p. 20-23
- count out loud
- Do 3-10-3 for each piece
- don’t forget to add dynamics and articulations (staccato and accents)
