Technique/Scales

  • G major scale and arpeggios (two 8vas) – hands separately, then together. For scales, pause at each place where you cross under/over to make sure the correct hand goes first: rh on ascending, lh on descending
  • Ploger: 6-Part Lap Map improv and 6-part Longy Rhythm (separately)

Theory/Sightreading

Theory – Unit 7?

  • Sight Reading 1B: finish up the extra exercises at the end
  • Sight Reading 2A: Unit 1

Unit 1 duet: Eighths Are Enough

Repertoire

Nocturne

  • For the big scale, try separating wherever there’s a cross under and change to a shifting of hand position instead. Go through this slowly, then try to speed up gradually but minimizing any “hops” until it’s basically legato with minimal condensing of the hand
