Technique/Scales
- G major scale and arpeggios (two 8vas) – hands separately, then together. For scales, pause at each place where you cross under/over to make sure the correct hand goes first: rh on ascending, lh on descending
- Ploger: 6-Part Lap Map improv and 6-part Longy Rhythm (separately)
Theory/Sightreading
Theory – Unit 7?
- Sight Reading 1B: finish up the extra exercises at the end
- Sight Reading 2A: Unit 1
Unit 1 duet: Eighths Are Enough
Repertoire
Nocturne
- do 2 measures LH dotted quarter note blocked chords, cycle several times, then move on to the next 2 measures and repeat, then combine into a 4-measure group
- Be sure you are only working in 10-minute chunks at a time here so you don’t get exhausted
- when the blocking is easy for 4 or more measures, go back and play as written, LH alone, but be sure you go slowly enough. Around 69 bpm for an 8th note
- if you have time and that is easy, you can play LH blocks and RH as written
Clementi Sonatina Op 36 No 1 mvt 2
- Work on addressing the 3 causes of error while you’re playing this
