Mar 27, 2026
Scales
G Major Scale, chords, and arpeggios 2 octaves hands together slowly
- Curve fingers
- Have the hand/arm angled outward
- level wrist (not high and low), and relaxed elbows
Repertoire
Kuhlau Sonatina Op 21 No 1
- on hold for now
For these two pieces, use this Google sheet, and practice only the measures on a given day. If you miss a day of practice, just pick up where you left off (don’t skip ahead): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VDZbAwcwjlUsVpYZbUwRrXps59506TIQxm_B19xciRA/edit?usp=sharing
Poole Nocturne
- Continue with 3-10-3 hands together
- Don’t look at your hands as you have leaps – use the black keys and cues where your other fingers are to help you figure out where to leap to
Bach Invention No. 8 in F Major
- this won’t be started this week, but when it’s ready in the rotation schedule, being practicing only those measures
- Play the segment hands separately to get an idea of what you are supposed to play, then put hands together using 3-10-3. Under tempo is best!
- Follow the rotation schedule for learning – note that after you’ve gone through and run out of “blocks”, you can play through that material each day
