Technique/Scales

  • G major scale and arpeggios (two 8vas) – hands separately, then together. For scales, pause at each place where you cross under/over to make sure the correct hand goes first: rh on ascending, lh on descending
  • Ploger: 6-Part Lap Map improv and 6-part Longy Rhythm (separately)

Theory/Sightreading

Theory – Unit 7?

  • Sight Reading 1B: finish up the extra exercises at the end
  • Sight Reading 2A: Unit 1

Unit 1 duet: Eighths Are Enough

Repertoire

Nuvole Bianche

  • Work on transitions where you change hand positions, focus on feeling where your hand should go vs. looking at your hand (visualize the keys instead)
  • Use metronome to help in m. 88 so you don’t speed up.
  • Try to experiment with using soft pedal or going suddenly soft in the section prior to m. 88 to help build intensity without speeding up

Clementi Sonatina Op 36 No 1 mvt 2

  • Practice transitions – repeat just the last note of one measure going to the first 3 notes of the next measure so you are ready for the new hand position
