Ensemble Piece: Troublemaker
Repertoire
Mozart Rondo
- Work on increasing tempo to 66bpm by working difficult sections one measure at a time, cycling them until it locks into tempo, then move on to the next measure and cycle. Then try putting two measures together.
Wild Mignonette
- In the B section, cycle one phrase at a time with metronome until easy before moving on to next phrase
Fairy Tale
- work m13-16 in LH like we did in lesson: play LH blocked by combining different notes (top+bottom, top+middle, middle+bottom), then play those combinations again and add the 3rd missing note as you hold the combo (ie, play top+bottom, hold and add middle)
- m17-20 work extra on RH alone and add LH remembering the pattern in LH. Your focus goes to RH here, so LH needs to be a bit more autopilot
Gavotte
- continue hands separate work but put hands together for the rest of the piece
- for now, play LH legato where possible
- RH you can add little breaks or breaths at the ends of slurs
- RH careful 8th notes are still even
