Technique/Scales
G major scale (two 8va), arpeggios (two 8va) – hands separately, then together.
Ploger: 6-Part Lap Map p. 68 improv
6-part Longy Rhythm – do this without Lap Map, tapping on beat 1 only and whispering on dots. Use your good coach to remind yourself to go through the tough section first, then do entire right side, then start from beginning. When you can do this without a mistake, then you can add Lap Map
- Try to keep going if you make a mistake – identify the cause of error, and apply the correct cure in time
Solfege:
- improvise solfege melodies, only stepwise motion up and down. If you want to move further up or down, you have to say all the solfege in between. Don’t worry about singing it for now, just get fluent in speaking the solfege and visualizing the keys

Repertoire
Let’s set aside Enchantment until about mid-July
Bach Little Prelude in C
- For mordents, practice LH alone being sure to keep thumb from playing flat, and finger 3 curved especially in first joint, not letting wrist be too high or too low
- M. 13 to downbeat of 14 – practice alternating hands by playing RH note then LH note, etc. until easy, then play LH note then RH note until easy. Don’t look down at hands as you do this, but visualize the keys you are to play.
- When playing from the beginning, try to bring out the hand that plays the 8th note motive.
Sonatina in C, Op. 36 No. 3 – Clementi
- Begin putting hands together, still taking time to work on the difficult measures
- M. 10-11 and 42-46 play RH as legato as possible without repeating notes to get the feel of the changes. Try not to look at hands as you do this
