Repertoire

Minuet in G p. 6

  • For the next 3 days, play only hands separately with counting out loud as if you’ve never played it – very slowly
  • after that, then put hands together slowly, and only go faster when you can play hands together without any problems
  • focus on difficult measures by practice them extra times without mistakes

Clementi Sonatina p. 16-17

  • Count out loud
  • Hands separately
  • practice 6-7 extra in RH – this is one of the tricky parts of the piece and will need more time

Tarantelle p. 34-35

  • count out loud in your head, but keep the tempo on the slow side
  • work on dynamics- look at each phrase and see what you’re supposed to do, then imagine what is should sound like. If you’re not sure, try singing it with the dynamics
  • be careful of your tempo changing in m.17 – this is easier to play than 8th notes so we tend to speed this up
