  • slow practice throughout
  • spend extra time on m. 9-12, and m. 17-24

  • mark down which measures you need to hold down the low note (there are 5) vs ones you can rely upon the pedal to hold for you
  • Pedal as we discussed: m. 1-3, 5-7, 9-11 pedal first 3 beats and lift on 4, m. 4 for whole measure and at end, m. 8, 12 pedal beats 1-2 and 3-4

Clementi Sonatina Op 36 No 1 mvt 1

  • m. 7, 12-14, 22-23, and m. 37 practice in rhythms to help speed this up: group of 2’s long-short, short-long;  3’s speaking “123” to keep track, then when easy go back but start counting 123 on 2nd note, when easy repeat starting on 3rd note and counting 3’s; 4’s same as 3’s
  • m. 22-23 work on blocking hand positions (there are 3)
