Technique/Scales

Scale and arpeggios – do 2 or 3 keys this week. If you feel you need more work on C, G, and D major, continue with these another week. Otherwise, go onto A, E and B major

JS Bach Invention No 8

  • follow the practice rotation schedule for this. Break the measures down as small as you need to, do hands separate to figure out the notes but then do 3-10-3 right away hands together (note: this will be tricky, so go as slow as you need to. Smaller sections will work better than longer ones)

Venetian Boat Song –

  • work on playing the LH alone so you can focus on not making it legato for everything, allow separation where needed so you’re not doing as much rotation
  • try using the Interleaved Clicking Up to help with getting the tempo up to around 116 per 8th note, work (3) 8th notes per “step”
